For the final paper I will look into the issue of Green Buildings. Specifically I will analyze the old and new technologies that are associated with green building in addition to providing descriptions of the main components of current green buildings being constructed around the world. Additionally a cost comparison between traditional and green building techniques will be conducted based on both the energy consumption of a building and the actual cost of construction. The specialization of green buildings for certain types of climates will be described as well. Finally the political face of this issue will be discussed. This analysis will include current policy measures that both support and attack green building efforts with possible predictions on the future of green buildings.
Modification: Specifically I will be focusing on green building in the commerical office space market and goverment/public sector.

Thinking about the full energy picture (from embedded energy in the materials and construction to consumption over a reasonable life expectancy of the structure) is a very interesting proposition. For reasonable comparisons, include considerations of the "time value of money" -- or whatever the ecommunists call it!
