Laboratory formula sheet [89.5 kB]— for the inside front cover of your laboratory notebook

Writing a laboratory report? You may wish to start from a template file that handles a lot of the formatting issues for you. The following archives provide templates in Microsoft Word and LaTeX format. Pick the one for your platform of choice:

Word picture TeX picture Laboratory report template for Macintosh — in both Word and pdfLaTeX formats
   or
Word picture TeX picture Laboratory report template for Windows — in both Word and LaTeX formats

Sometimes it helps to see an example or two. Professor Lynn has picked a pair of published articles and inserted comments about the formatting and the content of each. I recommend reading these over before you begin to write.

Using PNS.sty
Here's a very trivial document using PNS.sty, to get you up and running:

\documentclass[11pt]{article}
\usepackage[math,headers,noapple]{PNS}
% other options: problems, nographics
\renewcommand{\theTitle}{My Jolly Title}
\begin{document}

Stuff as normal. See the actual file for what is loaded and what definitions are made. Eventually, I may document more thoroughly, but it hasn't happened yet.

\end{document}
