Ph.D., California Institute of Technology Theoretical general relativity, relativistic astrophysics, and cosmology; the foundations of quantum theory |
| I work in the fields of general relativity and cosmology, which deal with strong gravity and the large-scale structure of the universe. Recently I have been studying the behavior of quantum mechanical particles in the vicinity of spacetime singularities. Traditionally singularities have been defined by the behavior of classical particles. Since there are no such particles, it is important to understand the nature of singularities when real, quantum particles are used instead. |
